Today’s strip is a bit of an in-joke between Lauren and I. When I get into “serious relationship talk” mode, I often think I’m saying one thing but the other person thinks I’m saying something totally different.

Case in point: when I was winding up to telling Lauren that I loved her for the first time, she actually thought I was breaking up with her. True story.

Panel 2: Use "serious talk" language inappropriately.
Matt: "Honey, we're at a certain stage in our relationship now..."

Panel 3:
Matt: "I'm comfortable with you. I can't imagine ever being with anyone else."

Panel 4:
Matt: "So I really, truly think we should... see an action movie tonight."

Tooltip: It's much safer to do this _after_ you're engaged. TRUST ME.
